Rule 8 – ‘Filling Up Your Time before the Date.’
According to chapter 8, women go on dates with high expectations. They want the man to find them beautiful, to ask them out and to father their children. Yes. It actually says that. Usually my expectations involve wanting someone who makes me laugh and who won’t find me to unbearable to look at.
The main point in RULE 8 is that if you’re busy all day before a date, you won’t be so needy and pathetic when you meet him.
However, before you even get to the date, you must busy yourself so that you’re slightly breathless and brimming with energy when you finally see him. So basically you want to look like you’ve just masturbated yourself into a pre-date happy place.
It says that before the date:
- Relax by having a bubble bath.
- Have a nap if I want.
- Buy myself new stuff. A NEW BOOK PERHAPS??
I MUST NOT
- Write my name and his in all different combinations.
Joanna Gosling…Ryan Bolouri… Joanna Van Gosling…Joanna Bolouri Gosling… Joanna Ryan… Mr Ryan Bolouri… MRS RYAN BOLOURI…HER ROYAL HIGHNESS Joanna McGosling.
- Think about the date at all.
Surround myself with people who are obsessed with marriage as this will only lead to me blurting out the word marriage over dinner.
‘I had a lovely marriage. Thanks for asking.’
‘Day. I had a lovely day.’
